Over the last eight years, Lisa Paolino has worked hard to serving the community, on issues ranging from acquiring open space to lowering taxes.

Here is a partial list of her many accomplishments:

Open Space

• - Acquired 10 parcels, comprising over 50 acres of land in Radnor since 2000 (108 Petrie Avenue, 620 E. Lancaster Avenue (Leaming), Chew tract, Woodland Avenue, Young tract, Conestoga & Sproul Road, Garrett Avenue (Walker), 388 Liberty Lane (D'Antonio), Conestoga Road (Goff), 299 Liberty Lane, and 227 Brook Street).

• - Adopted ordinance asking Radnor voters to decide whether to authorize the issuance of $20 million to finance additional land acquisition; adopted by 4-1 margin (2006).

• - Monitoring proposed sale of American College; working with college officials and prospective buyers to guide desired uses and preserve as much as open space as possible (2006-2007).

• - Founder of Bryn-Rose Civic Association

• - Radnor named Tree City USA for 13 consecutive years.

• - Planted 320 trees throughout the Township, 70 in the 5th Ward alone (2000-2007).

• - Developed new pocket park with tot-lot on Petrie Avenue

• - Acquired 227 Brook Street (2006); developing concept plans for new pocket park (2007).

• - Opened new Radnor multi-purpose Trail; trail named "Best Bike and Running Trail" by Main Line Today magazine (2006).

• - Harford Park named "Best Park for Pets" by Main Line Today.

• - Opened new Skateboard Park in Encke (2005).

• - Installation of new landscaping at Ithan Valley Park (2003).

• - Annual clean-up at Ithan Valley Park (2000-2007). Storm Water Management

• - Adopted new stormwater management ordinance

• - Adopted Impervious Coverage Regulations in Planned Apartment and Non-Residential Zoning Districts (2004)

• - Held public hearings on proposed new Comprehensive, Township-Wide Stormwater Management Implementation Plan (2006-2007); new plan expected to be adopted in 2008.

• - Adopted new Comprehensive Land Use Plan in 2003 first since 1988 after unprecedented public and stakeholder input to guide future development in the Township.

• - Adopted regulations restricting siting of cellular towers and wireless communications facilities (2004).

• - Adopted new Property Maintenance Regulations restricting siting of Student Rental Facilities

• - Adopted new Wayne Master Plan to help guide the downtown's future (2005).

• - Introduced ordinance to create new Wayne Business Overlay District, enhancing Township's tax base (2007).

• - Celebrated Radnor Centennial, recognizing Township's 100th year as 1st Class Township (2001).

Finance/Administration

• - Ratified Township Manager's hiring of new, highly qualified Director of Finance, Aimee Cuthbertson, CPA (2006).

• - Adopted budgets in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2007 with no increase in real estate taxes (including one tax reduction in 2002).

• - Recipient of prestigious Government Finance Officers Association's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 13 consecutive years.

• - Recipient of 10 consecutive 15% discounts in workers' compensation premiums as a result of having a certified Staff Workplace Safety Committee (cumulative savings of over $250,000).

• - Implemented new streamlined health benefits plan for employees and retirees, which will save over $1 million in expenses per year (2007).

• - Negotiated new cable franchise agreement with Verizon of PA, which will bring competition for Radnor residents (2006).

• - Attained bond rating of AA from Moody's Investors Service, resulting in lower interest costs on borrowing (top 14% in Pennsylvania and top 10% in entire U.S.).

Communications

• - Telecast multiple hours of public meetings and public interest shows on RTV10 throughout the year.

• - Revamped and enhanced Township's web site www.radnor.com making it more user-friendly (2006).

• - Issue monthly electronic magazine via Internet, keeping residents up to date on current events.

• - Sponsor of annual Bob Crawford Golf Classic, raising over $50,000 for college scholarships for Radnor students since 2001.

• - Sponsor of annual Unity Breakfast, promoting racial harmony and tolerance of diversity (2001-2007).

• - Sponsor of annual Senior Citizen luncheon, giving back to those who have built our community.

• - Co-sponsor of annual Main Line Jazz & Food Festival (2004-2007).

• - Co-sponsor of annual WBA Fall Festival.

• - Sponsor of annual Flag Day ceremonies.

• - Co-sponsor of annual Memorial Day parade.

• - Co-sponsor of annual Garrett Hill 4th of July parade.

• - Co-sponsor of school district's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.

• - Sponsor of annual Black History Month celebration, featuring Tuskegee Airmen, recipients of 2007 Congressional Medal of Honor.

Public Works/Infrastructure

• - Working with Lower Merion Township, PennDOT, and Main Line Health officials to improve traffic flow and safety at 5-Points intersection at Bryn Mawr Avenue and County Line Road (2006-2007).

• - Preliminary design phase for new sanitary sewers for homes on Academy and Sulgrave Lanes (2007).

• - Installed new traffic light system with emergency pre-emption at Roberts and Conestoga Roads (2006).

• - Installed new Welcome to Radnor Township signs on County Line and Glenbrook Avenue, Malin Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue, and Sproul Road (2004-2005).

• - Recipient of Community Development Block Grant to install new curbs on Brook Street.

• - Working with PennDOT to fund storm water management improvements along state-owned roads.

• - Building new cost-effective, state-of-the-art municipal building on site of former building, scheduled to open in late 2007.

• - Recipient of average annual grant of $120,000 for residents' recycling efforts (2000-2007).

• - Worked with State Representative Bill Adolph to construct Sound barriers along Blue Route behind Cornerstone

Public Safety

• - Transferred police dispatch duties to Delaware County, improving communications and reducing costs by over $250,000 per year (2006).

• - Implemented new Cops & Shops program to help curtail underaged drinking in Township (2006).

• - Received $90,000 from Delaware County as part of Department of Homeland Security grant to install mobile data terminals in police vehicles (2006).

• - Established new citizens' police academy (2007).

• - Amended Township's emergency management plan (2002).

• - Coordinating Township's obligations under the National Incident Management System (2006).

• - Recipient of Governor's Highway Safety Award for innovations in promoting safe driving.

• - Recipient of Main Line Today magazine's Best Police Force on the Main Line.

Public Health

• - Radnor Board of Health sponsored discussions and forums on West Nile virus, underage smoking efforts, unvaccinated domestic animals, AIDS, rabies, Lyme Disease, blood-borne pathogens, and other health issues (2000-2006).

• - Co-sponsor of annual Radnor 5-Mile Run, raising over $300,000 for research on lung disease since 2000.

• - Health Officer sponsored classes on food preparation for _ food establishments in the Township (2000-2006).

• - Board of Commissioners, upon Board of Health's recommendation, have urged state legislators to impose statewide ban on smoking in restaurants and other public places (2007).
